OTP Based LPG Cylinder Home Delivery Starts from this Date

OTP Based LPG Cylinder Home Delivery Starts from this Date

From the month of November 2020, LPG cylinder delivered to your doorstep, an OTP will be required. Oil Companies To Implement New OTP System for Home Delivery System of LPG Cylinders.

Oil companies will be

implementing a new system, Delivery Authentication Code (DAC), wherein, the home delivery of a Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder will require an OTP (one-time-password) from next month, i.e., November 1.

As per reports, the DAC process for home delivery will be first implemented in 100 smart cities and will also be extended to other cities, if the system works efficiently in these cities. Also, the pilot project has already been implemented in Jaipur in Rajasthan.

This system has been introduced to prevent the theft of cylinders of cooking gas. Also, it will help them to identify the right customer so that the cylinder is delivered to the right person.

As per reports, this system will not be applicable for commercial cylinders.

How Does The Delivery Authentication Code System For LPG Cylinder Delivery Works

The new OTP system for LPG cylinder delivery is quite simple, and here is how it works:

When you book an LPG gas cylinder, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number that is registered with the company. At the time of delivery, the customers will be required to show the code and receive the LPG cylinder. This will also make sure that the cylinder has been delivered to the right person.

However, if your mobile number has not been updated, the number can be updated by the delivery person through an application in real time.

This new system OTP based delivery process will act as another level of security. But, there is the possibility that this new process will lead to some difficulties for some customers who haven’t updated their details with the LPG delivery department.

Also, your address and the mobile number of the customer should be accurate for LPG cylinder home delivery of the LPG cylinder.

  11. Oil companies should also introduce the system of informing the customer about the date and time of delivering the cylinder. If someone is out, this would enable him to stay at home at the time of delivery of LPG.
