LPG Subsidy: ₹300 subsidy on Ujjwala cylinders could be discontinued! Get this work done immediately

 

LPG cylinder Biometric Aadhaar Authentication: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has simplified the Aadhaar authentication process for LPG consumers. Consumers can now complete biometric Aadhaar authentication, or e-KYC, from the comfort of their homes, free of charge, using their smartphones. This feature saves time and makes it easy to securely update LPG connection details online.

LPG Cylinder Biometric Aadhaar Authentication: The Aadhaar authentication process has now been simplified significantly for LPG cylinder consumers. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has launched a new facility that allows consumers to complete their biometric Aadhaar authentication/e-KYC from the comfort of their homes, free of charge, using their smartphones.

Aadhaar authentication now available from the comfort of their homes

Previously, consumers had to visit a distribution center or agency for e-KYC, but now this facility is available completely online. According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry, consumers simply need to follow a few simple steps from their phones and their authentication will be completed instantly.


How to Authenticate?

  • First, consumers should scan the provided QR code or visit the website https://www.pmuy.gov.in/e-kyc.html.
  • Following this process, download the app for your oil marketing company—such as IndianOil One, HP Pay, or BharatGas.
  • Then download the ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ app.
  • Scan your face using the Aadhaar FaceRD app, following the instructions provided in the company app.
  • Once the scan is complete, the biometric authentication or e-KYC process will be completed.

Special Note for Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiaries

  • The government has clarified that biometric authentication/e-KYC is mandatory for Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries who receive the targeted subsidy of ₹300 per year.
  • If beneficiaries do not complete this process, they will not be able to avail the subsidy.
  • Furthermore, consumers who have not previously completed e-KYC should complete the process as soon as possible to ensure continuation of their gas subsidy.
