13 states have prepared the draft for the New Wage Code. The Central Government has also finalized the rules under these laws. The new law will affect the take home salary.

New Delhi: The  central government is going to implement all the four labor laws (New Wage Code). It is likely to be implemented by the next financial year. As soon as this law is implemented, there will be a change in the Take Home Salary and PF Structure. Salary will be less than before. Four labor laws on wages, social security, industrial relations, business security, health and working conditions may be implemented by the next financial year.

13 STATES PREPARED THE DRAFT

Giving information about this, a senior official said that at least 13 states have prepared the draft rules for these laws. The Central Government has finalized the rules under these laws and now the states have to make rules on their behalf because labor is a subject of the Concurrent List.

ALL STATES CAN IMPLEMENT THE NEW LAW SIMULTANEOUSLY

He said that the four labor laws are likely to come into force in the next financial year 2022-23 as a large number of states have finalized their draft rules. The central government had completed the process of finalizing the draft rules of these laws in February 2021. Since labor is a concurrent subject, the Center wants the states to implement it simultaneously.

WHAT DID THE UNION LABOR MINISTER SAY?

Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav said in the Rajya Sabha earlier this week in response to a question that at least 13 states have prepared draft rules for labor laws on business security, health and working conditions. Apart from this, 24 states and union territories have prepared draft rules of labor law on wages. 20 states have prepared the draft rules of the Industrial Relations Code and 18 states have prepared the draft rules of the Social Security Code.

4 DAYS A WEEK WORK, 3 DAYS OFF

Let us tell you that there is a provision regarding leave in the new wage code. This will affect the salaried class, workers working in factories and mills. Now there will be a change in the working hours. According to the new wage code, 12 hours of work will have to be done in a day. Will have to work 48 hours a week and have three days off.

However, some unions have raised questions about working 12 hours a day. On this, the government said that 48 hours of work will have to be done in a week. If someone works for 8 hours a day, then he will have to work 6 days a week. Then he will get only 1 leave in a week.
