Now go to the bank of the person whose money has been transferred in your account by mistake.
You can get your money back by giving proof of money transfer by mistake.
According to the Reserve Bank, money is withdrawn without your permission, then you will have to inform the bank about this incident within three days.
By doing this you can save money. The bank will send money back to your account

    1. Hope we do not have to visit the Branch to sort it out. Fine if it is in the same city. What happens if I wrongly sent it to Cherapunjee, instead of Chennai ?
      I hope the Manager in Cherapunjee will acknowledge my mail & take action.

  3. I think it's not so simple and so easy to retrieve back the lost money. if by chance the person who receives the wrong money and he withdraws it immediately then nothing can be done....

  4. I think it is not correct because I myself face this problem. I wrongly transfer money to another account hence immediately informed to bank. They gave me complaint number aswelas thansfer money to my account but under hold after 1 month without any intimation they reverse / debited the same amount from my acconut finnaly I lost my money.

  5. I think , when you make the payment ,you must save the transaction,if it wrong payment,do submit your complain to your Banker,who will sent this complain to that Bank.
    In case that account holder does not have money ,that Bank Branch will make a note in a/c. and recover.

  8. Yes , it is not at all easy . if the wrong reciever withdraws mo0ney from his account immidately , it is not easy to retrieve it . You are at mercy of the reciever - if he is a good man he may reverse the transaction else , say Good bye to your money .
    By the way , the procedure given above is not clear at all and does not make sense . ..

  9. When I approach SBI ISROLayout branch Bangalore they least bother at all.they advice Google pay help desk.Helpdesk says contact your branch.Branch they least bother customer complaints

  11. A suggestion. While transferring money from our account to someone's account , the name of the receiver should also be displayed. This will minimize such mistakes .And if careful these type of mistakes to transfer in wrong accounts will definitely be avoided.

  15. ALONG WITH ACOOUNT NAME AND BRNCH OF BANK THE NAME OF THE RECIEVER IN BANK RECORD SHOULD ALSO BE DIPLAYED ON GOOGLE PAY AS SAID EARLIER. THIS WILL MINIMIZE SUCH KING OF MISTAKES.

  16. My money of Rs. 10000/- was transferred to an account of Hisar District, UP, from WB sbi erroneously, I made complaint immediately, sbi gave me a complaint no, and after one month Sbi close the complaint with a note, It was the fault of yourself, not of bank.

    Same is happening for the fraudulent transfer from SBI Credit card and IndusInd Bank over one year inspite of my timely complaints with copy of POLICE COMPLAINT FILED THE NEXT Day of grafuldilant transaction dto RBI ,PRINCIPAL

  18. It's very difficult to approach the bank of the wrong monry receiver as his bank may be located anywhere. The reserve bank should make simple laws for wrong/accidentally transfer of money to some other unknown person account. Like the transfer should notify his bank of wrongly transfer of money and his bank should observe procedure to call back wrongfully or accidentally debited
