For this, the electricity department is making an app. In which all the information including daily electricity bill will be available.
Electricity Bill Rules: Thousands of consumers keep visiting Kesco office every day for billing discrepancies. This problem will be solved soon. Kesco is going to install six and a half lakh smart meters in the city. After the smart meter is installed, the calculation of how much electricity was spent in the house every day will be visible on the consumer’s mobile. Kesco is making an app to see the electricity expenditure. In which there will also be information about the amount of electricity spent.
Kesco will completely eliminate the billing problem in the next two years. Consumers reach the electricity office every day with the complaint of not receiving the bill. Kesco officials will achieve the target of installing smart meters in the homes of six and a half lakh consumers in the next two years. At present, smart meters have been installed in one and a half lakh houses. Kesco is spending a budget of Rs 582 crore in this work.
Meters are being checked in 30 thousand houses
Kesco is currently installing check meters in the homes of 30 thousand consumers. Their results are being checked. Kesco has created a consumer app for the convenience of consumers. In which the consumer will be able to see the calculation of how many units of electricity was spent in a day. With the introduction of this system, billing meters will be completely removed. Officials say that only meters above 25 kilowatts will be billed. Apart from this, only smart prepaid meters will be installed in all the houses.
Kesco Director Rakesh Varshney said – Kesco will install smart prepaid meters in every consumer’s house. Those who already have meters installed, will not be charged for installing these meters. Billing will be done for meters above 25 kilowatts. Consumers will also know how many units of electricity was spent per day for how many rupees through the app created by Kesco.
