New Vande Bharat: There is a plan to run Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains from Raxaul, a railway station located on the India-Nepal border. The exercise has been intensified by the railways regarding this. The proposal was earlier sent to the Railway Board and the Ministry of Railways through the East Central Railway Headquarters by the Divisional DRM of Samastipur Division, Vinay Srivastava. Now the hope of getting approval for this proposal has increased. In this case, with the aim of ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat modern trains in Raxaul, the railways has issued a tender of about 65 lakhs for the work of modification in Over Head Equipment (OHE).
Washing pit to be built in Saharsa
According to information received from railway sources, this tender is for necessary changes and upgrades in the power overhead lines near the maintenance shed and pit lines of trains in Raxaul. Modern trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat run at high speeds, and require special power supply and maintenance facilities. Modifications in OHE will enable these trains to be serviced safely and effectively at Raxaul. Along with this, preparations are also underway to build a state-of-the-art washing pit in Saharsa. Complete information regarding the tender has been shared on the official website of the Railways.
Raxaul station will be developed as a maintenance hub
This initiative is a big step towards developing Raxaul railway station as an important maintenance hub. The tender will strengthen the power infrastructure, which will play an important role in the operation of these premium trains. Railway officials believe that the development of these facilities will improve the reliability and availability of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains originating or passing through Raxaul. It will also promote rail connectivity in the region.
Plan to upgrade in Muzaffarpur too
The tender for OHE modification for the facilities of these modern trains has already been issued at Muzaffarpur Junction. In such a situation, in future, Indian Railways is working to strengthen the infrastructure for the operation of high-speed and semi-high-speed trains in North Bihar. The second washing pit built under the Gati Shakti Yojana has been prepared mainly for the maintenance of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains.
