PNB Debit Card Alert: Punjab National Bank (PNB) will discontinue complimentary domestic airport lounge access for RuPay Platinum debit card holders from April 1, 2026. Subsequently, lounge access will be available from April 15, 2026, subject to a minimum quarterly spend of ₹5,000.

Actually, the public sector bank Punjab National Bank (PNB) has recently made changes in the lounge access program for the RuPay Platinum debit card. In an official statement issued by the bank, it has been said that Punjab National Bank (PNB) RuPay Platinum debit card customers will no longer get the facility of free domestic airport lounge access. This benefit will be discontinued from April 1, 2026.

This means that now free entry to the airport lounge will not be possible just by showing the card, no matter how much you spend. PNB says that for RuPay Platinum debit card customers, domestic lounge access will be available on the basis of minimum expenditure.

PNB alerts customers

According to a report in the Economic Times, the PNB website states that all complimentary lounge access benefits offered on the PNB RuPay Platinum debit card are being discontinued effective April 1, 2026. The website states that this information is for customer information and necessary action.

However, the bank hasn’t completely discontinued the facility, but has instead linked it to spending. PNB has clarified that from April 15, 2026, domestic airport lounge access will be available only if the cardholder has spent a minimum amount in the previous quarter, meaning lounge access will now be available based on a minimum spend.

What is the minimum spend?

To get free airport lounge access, one must spend at least Rs 5,000 in the previous quarter. This new PNB rule will directly impact PNB RuPay Platinum debit card holders, who were previously enjoying free lounge access without spending.
