India Weather Forecast 2025: IMD has warned of heavy rain and storm from October 13-20, 2025.

India Weather Forecast 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department (India Weather Forecast October 2025) has released a new weather forecast for the entire country. According to the department’s bulletin, several states are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms (IMD Heavy Rain Alert) over the next few days. Rainfall will be particularly likely in North and East India, while the heat wave is subsiding in the South. This forecast is important for farmers, travelers, and urban dwellers, as weather changes could pose a risk of flooding (India Flood Risk 2025). According to the department, light to moderate rainfall will continue in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas in North India. From October 14th to 16th, scattered rainfall is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with rainfall of 20-40 mm expected. Temperatures will remain between 28-35 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a landslide alert in hilly areas such as Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Morning fog in Delhi may also provide some relief, but pollution levels will need to be monitored.

Rainfall in Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha

According to the department, heavy rains will occur in Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha in eastern and northeastern India. Cities like Kolkata and Patna may receive 50-70 mm of rainfall on October 15-17, which could lead to flooding. Thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of up to 40-50 km/h will be expected. Heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya may cause rivers to overflow. Travelers should exercise caution, as air and rail services may be affected.

Light Rain Continues

In western India, light rain continues along the coastal areas of Mumbai, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. From October 14-18, moisture from the Arabian Sea may bring 10-30 mm of rain. Temperatures will remain in the 25-32 degree Celsius range. High humidity will prevail in areas like Goa and Daman, which could exacerbate health problems. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea, as there is no threat of a cyclone, but waves will remain high.

Light Showers May Occur

According to the department, the weather in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kerala in South India will be pleasant. Meanwhile, light showers may occur in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka from October 16-20, but most areas will remain sunny. Temperatures will range from 22-30 degrees Celsius. In Andhra Pradesh, the heat will ease slightly, but humidity will persist. Farmers here need to focus on irrigation, as the monsoon has completely withdrawn.

Thunderstorms may cause up to 30-50 mm of rain.

According to the department, mixed weather will prevail in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand in central India. On October 15-17, thunderstorms of up to 30-50 mm of rain may occur in Bhopal and Raipur. Temperatures will remain between 26-34 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a lightning alert in rural areas. This forecast is valid until October 21, and changes are possible in the next update. However, the country’s weather remains unstable. The IMD has issued an orange alert in 10 states, warning people to be cautious of heavy rain. Experts say that climate change is increasing such fluctuations.
