IMD Rainfall Alert: Heavy rain expected for next 4 days due to cyclonic storm, IMD alert issued

Tomorrow’s Weather: According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), severe cyclonic storm “Montha” remains over the west-central Bay of Bengal. It has moved north-northwestward at a speed of about 12 kmph over the past six hours and was centered near latitude 14.9°N and longitude 82.9°E around 8:30 am on October 28. The storm will continue moving north-northwestward and will make landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, near Kakinada, on Tuesday evening or night. At that time, its wind speed will be 90 to 100 kmph. This could cause rainfall in several states.

Heavy Rain Alert in Jharkhand Until October 31

The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Jharkhand until October 31 due to the impact of the cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal. The department has issued a warning stating that heavy rainfall is possible in Simdega, West Singhbhum, Khunti, and Gumla on Tuesday. On Wednesday, very heavy rain is expected in Chatra, Garhwa, Latehar, and Palamu districts. On October 30th and 31st, heavy rain is also expected in many areas of Giridih, Koderma, Lohardaga, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, and Sahebganj.

Rainfall in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rain and gusty winds are likely in many districts of Bihar on October 30th and 31st. This will cause temperatures to drop and cold temperatures to be felt. The impact of the cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal may be felt in some districts of Bihar.

Heavy Rain in Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Center, isolated heavy rain is expected in Udaipur, Kota divisions, and surrounding districts on Tuesday, while light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and some parts of Jodhpur divisions. Heavy rain activity will increase from October 29th, although light to moderate rain is expected to continue in the southern and southeastern regions for the next four to five days.

Rainfall Expected in Tamil Nadu

According to the latest bulletin from the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) in Chennai, isolated areas of Chengalpattu, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, as well as Vellore, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari districts are likely to experience moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

According to the weather department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are likely in coastal Karnataka, north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe on October 28. Very heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema on October 28, Telangana on October 28-29, and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on October 30.

Heavy rain also expected in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain and isolated heavy falls are likely in West Madhya Pradesh on October 30, East Madhya Pradesh on October 29-30, Chhattisgarh and Odisha on October 27-30, and Gangetic West Bengal on October 28-31. Extremely heavy rain (more than 21 cm) is likely in South Odisha and Chhattisgarh on October 28. Strong winds with speeds of 60-70 km/h are likely in Chhattisgarh on the 28th and 50-60 km/h on the 29th.
