As the second wave of COVID seemed to recede, many states started easing travel restrictions, and even removed the mandatory RT-PCR tests to facilitate travel of people. However, now as some of the states started witnessing a rise in COVID cases, they have once again made RT-PCR tests mandatory for travellers to enter their regions.

HIMACHAL PRADESH
Himachal Pradesh after relaxing travel restrictions a few days earlier, has now made COVID-19 vaccine certificate or negative RT-PCR reports mandatory for those entering the state. According to the reports, visitors entering the state will now be required to carry a negative COVID report, which is not older than 72 of their travel. This update rule has been put into place due to rising COVID cases in the region. The COVID negative rule will, however, not apply to locals.

KARNATAKA
Karnataka recently made the RT-PCR test mandatory for those travelling Kerala and Maharashtra. Reportedly, special surveillance measures have also been announced by the Karnataka state government, which states that those arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra, irrespective of the vaccination status, will need to produce the said certificate that is not older than 72 hours. Further, the revised rule will be applicable to any type of visitor entering the state via train, bus, flight, or private vehicle.

KOLKATA
As per the latest reports, those travelling to Kolkata from Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai will now be required to produce an RT-PCR report that has been conducted within 72 hours of flight departure. Reportedly, the new guidelines will be put into place from August 8. Apart from the above-mentioned states, those travelling from other states, will either have to produce a negative RT-PCR test report or a certificate that proves they are fully vaccinated.

GOA
Goa has made RT-PCR reports mandatory for those coming from Kerala. As per the latest rule, anyone travelling from Kerala, will now be required to submit COVID-19 negative report to enter the state.
Earlier, Goa state government mandated that negative Rapid Antigen Test reports will be accepted. However, after Kerala witnessed a rise in COVID cases, the Goan government changed its protocols for Kerala as of now, and stated that only negative RT-PCR reports would be accepted.

CHATTISGARH
The Chhattisgarh state government announced that from August 8, it will become mandatory for passengers to produce a negative RT-PCR test report to enter the state. As per the reports, the said report must not be older than 96 hours of boarding the flight. As per the new rule, those who are fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines, will also need to produce a negative test report not older than 96 hours.
