The Jan Arogya Yojana is the second component of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana implemented by the central government of India for the welfare of low to moderate-income families to have their treatment and medical checks done with no or less cash flow. It provides cashless and paperless transactions for hospitalization services. There are no restrictions for family size, age, or gender to apply for the scheme.

The yojana is one the world’s largest schemes that cover the health expenditure of around 2 crores underprivileged families. This includes around 40 per cent of India’s population. As part of the scheme, the families will be receiving the amount of Rs. 5 lakhs as the yearly deposit for secondary or tertiary care hospitality. It covers the 3 days of the pre-hospitalization and 5 days post-treatment care of the infidels.

The Ministry of Family and Health Welfare is responsible for managing the scheme. They have provided many benefits under the scheme for the welfare of underprivileged households. The health insurance covered under PM Jan Arogya Yojana includes medical examination, consultation, treatment, pre-hospitalization, intensive and non-incentive care, medication, laboratory, and laboratory tests.

The accommodation, food services, and transport facilities, if using the hospital services, will also be covered by the scheme. These services will be covered within 15 days of treatment. However, there are certain things that are covered by the program, are as [outpatient services. Drug rehabilitation, cosmetic services, fertility treatment, and organ transplants.

The government registration of the PM Jan Arogya Yojana is the crucial step for receiving the benefits. Here are the following steps for registration that the candidates need to follow.

  • The registration link will be available on the primary platform of the scheme.
  • Access the “Am I eligible” section and check the eligibility criteria for applying.
  • If all the requirements are satisfied, look for the Register Now or Apply Now option on the webpage.
  • The page will navigate to the application from where all the details need to be submitted.
  • After submitting the personal details, check for the One-time password sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP and upload the documents required for the verification process.
  • Review the details provided and submit the application form.

After the successful submission of the form, the verification process will be carried out to check for the availability and the necessity of the scheme for the household. The candidates who qualify for the illegibly will receive the Ayushman Bharat card for further use.
