PM Awas Yojana: Who can apply for PM Awas Yojana, know how to apply from home
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Apply Online 2024: Eligibility criteria have been fixed by the Government of India to apply under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. According to this, the age of the applicant should be less than 70 years.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana 2024) is a scheme of the Government of India. Through this, houses are provided to the poor or economically weaker people living in cities and villages according to their purchasing power. The central government has identified 305 cities and towns in 9 states to build houses under this scheme. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to those people of the country who do not have their own house to build a house.

PM Modi started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, all the homeless citizens of India are given housing i.e. house by the central government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) on 25 June 2015. Then the main goal of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was that every family living below the poverty line should have their own house by the year 2023 so that they do not have to take a house on rent. The government claims that this target has almost been achieved.
Who can apply under PM Awas Yojana?
The eligibility criteria have been fixed by the Government of India to apply under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana Apply Online 2024). According to this, the age of the applicant should be less than 70 years. There should not be any house or flat in the name of the applicant or any member of his family. The applicant should not have taken any kind of government exemption to buy a house, the ownership of the house should either be in the name of a woman, or there should be only men in that family.
Apart from this, the maximum annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 18 lakh. For this, the applicant has been divided into four different parts economically. These include Economically Weaker Section (EWS) – those with annual total income less than three lakh rupees. Low Income Group (LIG) – those with Rs 3 lakh to 6 lakh annually, Middle Income Group-1 (MIG-I) – those with Rs 6 lakh to 12 lakh annually and Middle Income Group-2 (MIG-II) – those with Rs 12 lakh to 18 lakh annually. However, government assistance is available only for EWS or LIG category for repair or improvement of the house.
New applicants for PMAY can apply online by visiting the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana pmaymis.gov.in. The easy way is-
1. On the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, select the option “Benefit under other 3 components” under the “Citizen Assessment” menu.
2. Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and name.
3. After verification of Aadhaar number, enter the necessary information like your personal information, income and bank statement on the PMAY application page that opens.
4. Tick the I am aware of… checkbox, enter the captcha and click on the Save button.
5. After this, save the system generated application number that appears for future reference.
6. Download and print the filled PMAY application form.
7. After this, submit the application form by visiting your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or financial institution / banks along with the required documents.
8. After this, you can track the status of your PMAY application online on the same website through Assessment ID, or name, father’s name and mobile number.
