FASTag Annual Pass: You can book annual pass from this date, know how it will be activated

 

The Ministry of Road Transport will launch FASTag Annual Pass from 15 August 2025. For Rs 3,000, you will get toll-free travel for a year or up to 200 trips. This pass will be valid on NHAI’s national highways.

FASTag Annual Pass: If you travel frequently on the National Highway and stopping at the toll every time annoys you, then there is good news for you. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is going to launch FASTag Annual Pass from August 15, 2025. By paying just Rs 3,000, you will be able to travel toll-free on National Highways and Expressways for a whole year or up to 200 trips.

What is FASTag Annual Pass?

FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid toll plan launched by NHAI and MoRTH. Once you pay Rs 3,000, your car, jeep or van will get toll-free entry on national highways and expressways for the whole year (or up to 200 trips).

When and how will it be activated?

  • This pass will be activated from 15 August 2025.
  • Activation will be done on Rajmargyatra mobile app or NHAI website.
  • Verify your vehicle’s registration number and existing FASTag details.
  • As soon as you pay Rs 3,000, the pass will be activated within 2 hours and you will also get an SMS alert.

Where will the pass be valid?

  • Only on NHAI’s National Highway and National Expressway toll plazas.
  • This pass will not work on state highways, city toll or parking. There FASTag will be charged in the normal way.

Validity and Limit

  • The pass will be valid for one year or 200 trips (whichever is completed first).
  • Once the limit is completed, your FASTag will return to normal mode.
  • To avail the benefit again, you will have to activate the pass again.

Who can get this pass?

  • Only for private non-commercial vehicles (car, jeep, van).
  • This pass is not valid for taxi, bus or truck.

How will one trip be counted?

  • One crossing on point based toll = one trip.
  • One entry-exit pair on closed tolling system = one trip.

What are the benefits?

  • Savings of up to Rs 7,000 annually.
  • No more hassle of stopping at toll plazas.
  • Less traffic and fuel savings mean eco-friendly travel.
  • No need to recharge again and again.

What to do if the pass is not activated?

  • Check that the FASTag is installed correctly and is not blacklisted.
  • If it is still not activated, complain on the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI customer support.
