Heavy Rain Warning: Torrential rain from 14-19 August, IMD issues high alert

 

Heavy Rain Warning: According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal, northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha coasts, due to which heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in many states. According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana during August 14 to 17. While heavy rains are also expected in Karnataka during August 14-17.

Heavy Rain Warning: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in Telangana on August 14. While during the next 6-7 days, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at some places in Uttarakhand and at some places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu.

Heavy rain forecast in Bihar, Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh


According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected at some places in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during August 14 to 19; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during August 14 and 17-19; Bihar on August 14 and 15; Odisha during August 14-17; Very heavy rain is expected at some places in western Madhya Pradesh on August 15 and 16. While eastern Madhya Pradesh and Odisha on August 14; Vidarbha on August 14, 17, 18; Very heavy rain is also expected in Chhattisgarh during August 14-17.

Rain forecast in Jharkhand till August 19

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Jharkhand till August 19. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert till August 17. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected at some places along with rain. During this time, winds will blow at a speed of 40 kilometers.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely to continue at some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during August 14-16. At the same time, very heavy rains are likely in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya during August 14-17. While light/moderate rains with thunder and lightning are likely at many places during the next 4 days.

Extremely heavy rains in Karnataka and Telangana

Extremely heavy rains are likely over Telangana on 14th August. Heavy rains are likely over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka during 14-19th August. Heavy rains are likely over South Interior Karnataka during 14-17th August; Rayalaseema on 14th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana during 14-19th August. Heavy rains are likely over Kerala during 14-15th August, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 14th August; Telangana during 15-17th August; Very heavy rains are likely over some places over Coastal Karnataka on 18th and 19th August.
