Railway’s special offer: Railways is giving 20% discount on return journey fare, know how to avail the benefit

Sikar Railway Latest News: Railways has announced a round trip package scheme, in which 20% discount will be given on the return journey. The first phase of this scheme will start from August 14. Its objective is to provide affordable and convenient travel options to the passengers, so that the travel experience can be further improved.

Railway’s special offer: Railways has started a round trip package scheme across the country to provide relief to passengers in the upcoming festive season. This scheme has been implemented on an experimental basis for now, in which passengers will be given up to 20% discount on the fare on the return journey. To avail this facility, passengers will have to book both the tickets for coming and going together. Under the scheme, booking for passengers traveling between October 13 and October 26 will start from August 14.

The date of return journey has been fixed between November 17 and December 1. That is, the passenger will have to book the tickets for coming and returning at the same time, in the same class and in the same pair of trains.

The scheme will be available only on confirmed tickets

Railways has clarified that there will be no facility of refund and ticket modification in this scheme. That is, once the ticket is booked, no change or cancellation is possible in it. Apart from this, trains in which flexi fare system is applicable have been excluded from this scheme. The 20% discount will be applicable only on confirmed tickets. Any other concession like railway pass, voucher, rail travel coupon will not be included in this. Meaning, passengers will not be able to add the benefit of any other discount or pass with this scheme.

Scheme implemented on trial basis

This scheme has been launched especially keeping in mind the increasing passenger pressure during festivals. The round trip package will not only provide financial relief to the passengers, but they will also be guaranteed a return ticket. Availability of return tickets often becomes a big problem during festivals, in such a situation this scheme can prove to be a well-organized and economical option. According to railway officials, if this scheme is successful, then it will also be considered to be implemented permanently in the future. Currently it has been kept for a limited period and selected dates.

So that its impact and passengers’ response can be assessed. Let us tell you that during the festive season when trains are often full and ticket prices also increase, this scheme is going to provide a lot of relief to the passengers. This opportunity to get discounts by booking return and return tickets together will be special for those who can plan their journey on fixed dates.
