Before the assembly elections, the government is making new schemes and announcements to woo the people of Bihar. After increasing the security pension and giving reservation to women, now a plan has been made to provide free electricity up to 100 units.

Free electricity: Assembly elections in Bihar are near. Now parties are seen making new announcements and promises to woo voters. After taking decisions like increasing pension and women reservation, now they have decided to give free electricity up to 100 units to the people of the state (Bihar Free Bijli Yojana).


The proposal to give free electricity to the public has been approved by the Finance Department. Now this proposal is yet to be approved by the Bihar Cabinet. After this, all the families of the state will start getting free electricity up to 100 units.

Free electricity up to 100 units

The proposal to provide free electricity up to 100 units to the people of Bihar was first sent to the Finance Department. It has been approved by the department. Under this, now any consumer who consumes up to 100 units of electricity will not have to pay any kind of bill. Those who use more electricity than this will have to pay a charge per unit.

The outline has not been decided

The Finance Department has approved this proposal but the cabinet approval is still pending. The outline has not yet been prepared as to how the consumers will get the benefit of this. First of all, approval has been taken from the Finance Department because the state government will have to bear the entire cost. Currently, consumers in the state have to pay Rs 7.57 per unit for 50 units and Rs 7.96 per unit for more than that.

Pension has been increased

Before the elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made many announcements. On Saturday, he has also announced an increase in the Social Security Pension Scheme. Under this, now those who used to get a pension of Rs 400 will get Rs 1100. The beneficiaries will start getting this benefit from July. More than one crore nine lakh people are going to get this benefit.

Reservation for women

The Bihar government is also paying a lot of attention to the issue of women empowerment. On Tuesday itself, the Chief Minister has announced that 35% reservation will be given to women in every category of government jobs. This decision has been taken so that the representation of women in the government workforce can be increased. The Chief Minister says that this facility is being provided so that women can play a role in governance and administration in Bihar.
