Monsoon Rain Weather Update: People in the national capital Delhi are troubled by humidity and heavy heat. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for Tuesday in view of the possibility of rain and thunderstorms. There was light drizzle at some places in the city amid sunshine and clouds playing hide and seek. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees above normal. The IMD has predicted generally cloudy weather and moderate rain throughout the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at 70 percent at 8.30 am.
In its latest forecast, the Meteorological Department has said that a low pressure area is formed in the Gangetic West Bengal and its adjoining areas. It is likely to move west-northwestwards through Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh to Rajasthan and Gujarat during the next 2 days. IMD said that a cyclonic circulation is formed in South Gujarat and its adjoining areas. Apart from this, the monsoon trough is also active in North India. Due to these weather conditions, heavy to very heavy rains are expected across the country for the next four-five days. Train services at the busy Sealdah Junction of Eastern Railway were affected on Tuesday due to waterlogging at various stations connecting the main route and Bongaon after heavy rains in Kolkata and suburban areas on Tuesday.
