The rates of LPG cylinders are updated on the first of every month and often the prices of commercial cylinders decrease or increase. The rates of domestic cylinders are not tampered with much. Indian Oil’s data is also testifying to this. Because, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders since April this year. However, the prices of commercial cylinders keep changing every month. This time too, a change in the rate of domestic cylinders seems difficult.
When was the price of domestic LPG cylinder changed for the last time
Last time on 8 April 2025, the price of domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 50 and it became Rs 853 in Delhi. Since then the cylinder is available at this rate. Earlier on 30 August 2023, the price of LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 200.
Cylinder became cheaper by Rs 300
Since March 1, 2023, domestic LPG cylinders were available in Delhi for Rs 1103 and in one stroke, they came down to Rs 903. After August 30, 2023, once again on March 9, 2024, there was a big relief of Rs 100 and the price of the cylinder became Rs 803. That is, in a little more than two years, the price of LPG cylinder decreased by Rs 300 and increased by Rs 50. That is, a total relief of Rs 250 was given.
What was the price of the cylinder on 1 August 2014
On 1 August 2014, the domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi was priced at Rs 920. In Kolkata it was available for Rs 964.5, in Mumbai for Rs 947 and in Chennai for Rs 922. By 1 August 2015, the next year, LPG prices were reduced drastically and it became Rs 585 in Delhi, Rs 619 in Kolkata, Rs 599 in Mumbai and Rs 603.5 in Chennai.
According to Indian Oil, on 1 August 2016, the 14 kg cylinder in Delhi became cheaper and became Rs 487. In Kolkata it became Rs 514, in Mumbai for Rs 485 and in Chennai for Rs 499.5.
