Bank Holidays: Banks in Shimla will be closed for four consecutive days (Saturday through Tuesday). Services will be affected due to January 24th, the fourth Saturday, the 25th, Sunday, the 26th, Republic Day, and a bank employees’ strike on the 27th. Customers are advised to complete all their essential banking work on Thursday and Friday to avoid crowds and inconvenience later in the day. ATMs and online services are expected to remain operational.

Bank Holidays: If you have any important banking work to do, do it on Thursday and Friday. Banks will be closed for four consecutive days, from Saturday to Tuesday. During this period, most banking services will be halted. Branch transactions, check clearance, drafts, passbook updates, and other services will not be available.

Services will be suspended for four days

Banks will be closed on January 24th, the fourth Saturday. The following day, Sunday, January 25th, will be a weekly holiday. All public and private banks will be closed on January 26th for Republic Day. Banking services will be completely disrupted on January 27th due to a nationwide strike by bank employees.

Transactions will be affected

Banks will be closed for four consecutive days, from Saturday to Tuesday. Businesses face the most difficulties due to the continuous closure of banks. Cash transactions, payments, clearing, and other essential financial functions are not completed on time, impacting business activities.

ATM and Online Banking Services

Salary payments, EMIs, government payments, and other essential transactions may also be affected. ATM and online banking services are expected to remain operational, but in case of any technical problems, branch assistance will not be available.

What did the Bank Association officials say?

Bank Association officials stated that a strike by bank employees is planned for January 27th. All bank branches will remain closed due to this strike, which is being held to press various demands. Bank management has urged customers to plan ahead for cash needs, check deposits, drafts, and other essential tasks.

With banks closed for four consecutive days, there is a possibility of increased congestion at branches in the coming days. Therefore, completing work on time is the best option.
