Several cyclonic circulations are active in the upper troposphere, and a new Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of January 15, 2026. Additionally, a subtropical westerly jet stream, flowing at a speed of 100 knots at an altitude of 12.6 kilometers over North India, is making the weather even more severe.
A cyclonic circulation persists in the lower tropospheric region over the Gulf of Mannar and surrounding areas.
