IMD Warning: Heavy rain across the state and snowfall in the mountains on January 23, 24, and 25

IMD Warning: The weather is about to be favorable. The IMD has forecast a western disturbance becoming active in the state from January 22nd, with rain expected in five districts on the first day. The IMD has issued a rain alert for all districts of the state from January 23rd to 25th. Heavy snowfall is also expected in mountainous areas for four days starting January 22nd.

IMD Warning: The weather is about to turn harsh. The IMD report indicates this. Uttarakhand is currently experiencing a drought due to a lack of rain and snowfall. The mountains, which remain covered in snow until January, now appear snowless. Light snowfall was expected on Saturday afternoon in the high peaks of Hemkund Sahib, Badrinath, and Niti Valley, but it proved insufficient. People in the lower regions waited for rain and snowfall. The effects of the light snowfall in the mountains are visible throughout the state. Since Sunday, the mountainous regions have been experiencing bone-chilling cold, with icy winds seemingly eager to pierce the body. Meanwhile, the plains of the state are also reeling under the intense cold. The latest report released by the IMD is comforting. According to the IMD, the weather is expected to remain dry across Uttarakhand on January 19, 20, and 21. The weather will change in the state from January 22. The IMD has forecast heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by rain, in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts on January 22nd, and snowfall in areas at altitudes of 3,000 meters or higher in the state. A yellow alert for lightning has been issued on this day. According to the IMD, rain is expected in all districts of the state from January 23rd to 25th.

Snowfall up to 2,500 meters

According to the IMD, heavy rain is expected in many areas of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand on January 23rd. Rain may occur in some areas of the remaining hilly districts of the state, while scattered rainfall may occur in the plain districts. According to the IMD, snowfall is also possible in areas above 2,500 meters in Uttarakhand from January 23rd to 25th. Rain is also forecast in all districts of the state on January 24th and 25th. This season, snowfall forecasts have been issued for the first time in areas above 2,500 meters. Previously, snowfall warnings were issued only for areas with elevations of 3,000 meters or higher.
