Railway New Rules: From PNR to train location, you can get everything instantly; just send an SMS to this number.

If you’re tired of dirty toilets, faulty electricity, water shortages, or having to repeatedly call to check the train’s exact location while traveling by train, there’s some relief. The Railways has devised a new and easy solution for passenger convenience.

Railway New Rules: During train journeys, questions like “Which station will we reach next?”, “Is the train late or not?” or “Why is there no light in the coach?” come to every passenger’s mind. Now, to get answers to these questions, neither will one have to make long calls nor wait for hours. To further improve the convenience of passengers, Indian Railways has introduced a new and easy solution. Railways has started SMS service on helpline number 139, through which passengers will be able to get important information and register their complaints by sending a simple message.

Until now, passengers had to call 139 to get PNR status, train schedules, or other information. Calls took time to connect, and sometimes there were problems due to network congestion or congestion. To address this issue, the Railways has now launched an SMS-based service in addition to the call service, ensuring passengers receive immediate and hassle-free information.

Focus on Passenger Needs

According to railway officials, this facility has been introduced to meet the growing needs of passengers. Previously, assistance was provided through the 139 call service and the ‘Rail Madad’ app. Now, with the addition of the SMS service, this system has become more convenient and effective. Through this service, passengers can access their PNR status, train arrival and departure times, train current location, and operational information within seconds.

Immediate Complaints via SMS

Furthermore, passengers can also lodge complaints via SMS if they encounter any problems while traveling on a train or waiting at a station. Information about unsanitary conditions, poor toilet conditions, water shortages, power outages, or other inconveniences can be directly reported to the railway. Once the railway system receives an SMS regarding a complaint, the relevant department staff will be immediately dispatched to resolve the issue. This will allow for much faster resolution of problems than before.
