New Delhi, Tech Desk. WhatsApp Latest Update: Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp will stop working for some older Android and iPhone models from November 1, 2021. Some older phones running KaiOS will also stop supporting the messaging platform from November. Actually, WhatsApp has previously stopped the service for older models and OS. It said, discontinuing the service for older phones is to provide the "best experience" to the users.
WhatsApp will not work on old OS
According to WhatsApp's Office blog post, "For the best experience, we recommend that you use the latest software version of Android or iOS and all other compatible software." To check your phone's OS version, go to Settings menu > About section > and check the software version.

According to the latest report by WABetaInfo, Android phones running version 4.0.4 and older will stop supporting the messaging application. This suggests that Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Samsung Galaxy SII, Galaxy S3 Mini Android phones may lose access to WhatsApp from November 1, 2021.
Similarly, all iPhones running older iOS versions will stop supporting WhatsApp from November. The new minimum requirements for running WhatsApp on iPhone are iOS 10 and newer software versions. This suggests that devices including iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, Apple iPhone SE (1st generation) will stop supporting the messaging platform. In addition, some phones running KaiOS software will also stop supporting WhatsApp. As per the latest report, all phones running KaiOS 2.5.0 and newer software versions will no longer be able to run the instant messaging platform.
All Android, iOS and KaiOS phones running the older software version will be unable to run the instant messaging platform from November 1, 2021. This means, if you use any of the above mentioned devices, then after some time you will not be able to use WhatsApp. For this, you should update your old device to the latest model.
