Coronavirus 3rd Wave Update  The fear of the third wave of Corona remains. Some experts are anticipating a third wave after October. Dr. Clarence J. Samiul, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Christian Medical College and Hospital, who has been assessing the trend of corona through predictive modeling for two years, says that there is no possibility of a third wave in Punjab till November. . He says that there are many reasons for the third wave not coming till November in the study of daily cases of Corona. The first is that no new virus has come in the country so far. Anti body has been formed in more than 60 percent of the population in the state.

In Ludhiana, without a vaccine, 60 to 80 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been found to have anti-bodies. Means natural anti body has been created. Herd immunity is formed when a large number of people develop immunity due to vaccination or exposure to the virus. Herd immunity prevents the spread of infection. Antibody remains in the body for six months after being infected with the virus. Vaccination is very important to maintain herd immunity.

A large population in the state has received the first dose of the vaccine. It has been revealed in the study that after getting the vaccine, the anti-body remains in the body for about a year. Herd immunity is further maintained by vaccination. In the state, 60 percent of the population has become herd immunity without a vaccine. Increasingly, people are getting immunity even further by applying the vaccine. When immunity is high, the chances of infection are reduced.

Caution still needed

Dr. Clarence J. Samuels says that vigilance is still necessary. A new virus can appear at any time. It is very important to wear a mask and follow the rule of physical distance.
