Tata Stock Dividend: A Tata Group stock will soon pay a whopping dividend of 250 per cent to its shareholders. This would be the final dividend by the company for the financial year 2023-24. The company has already fixed the ex-date and book closure date (record date) for the next dividend.
A dividend is a cash reward which a company pays to its shareholders from it profit. The rate of dividend is decided by the board of the company and approved by the shareholders.
The Tata company that will soon pay dividend to its shareholders is engaged in the hotels and resorts industry. The company in discussion here is Benares Hotels Limited.
Benares Hotels had earlier declared a dividend payout of 250 per cent on each stock to its investors. A dividend is always calculated and paid on the face value value of each stock. The current face value of each stock of Benares Hotels is Rs 10.
Accordingly, the 250 per cent dividend translates into a payout of Rs 25 per cent on each stock.
Benares Hotels Dividend 2024 Record Date
Benares Hotels has already fixed ex-date and record date for the next dividend payment. As per BSE website, Benares Hotels has set August 22 as ex-date. The book closure date is from August 23 to August 30.
"The Register of Members and Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from Friday, August 23, 2024 to Friday August 30, 2024 (both days inclusive) and the Company has fixed Thursday, August 22, 2024, as the Record Date for determining entitlement of Members to dividend for the financial year ended March 31, 2024," the company said in a filing.
Benares Hotels Dividend Payment Date
Benares Hotels has also fixed the dividend payment date. As per a statement, Rs 25 dividend on each stock will be paid to eligible shareholders on or after Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Benares Hotels is a Tata-backed company. The Indian Hotels Company Limited, which is a part of Ratan Tata led Tata Group, is the promoter of Benares Hotels. The Indian Hotels Company owns 49.5 per cent stake in Benares Hotels.
Benares Hotels is a smallcap company, having a market cap of Rs 985.51 crore. Its shares on Wednesday closed 2 per cent lower at Rs 7,580.85.
Benares Hotels Dividend History
According to BSE website, Benares Hotels had in August 2023 paid a dividend of Rs 20 on each stock to its investors. In 2022, the company had rewarded its investors by distributing a dividend of Rs 10. Back in 2020 and 2019, Benares Hotels had paid a dividend of Rs 7.50 and Rs 15, respectively, on each stock.
Benares Hotels shares have a 52-week range of Rs 10,051 - Rs 4,439.
