Heavy rain in Northeast India
Most parts of Northeast India may receive light to moderate rains with heavy rains at some places in the next 7 days. Heavy rains are forecast especially in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between June 9 and 12.
Rain in East and Central India too
North West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bihar are also likely to receive light to moderate rains and heavy rains at some places between June 6 and 10. Strong winds at a speed of 40-50 km/h may also blow in the Gangetic plains.
Heat wave will also continue
At the same time, heat wave conditions will persist in western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, southern Uttar Pradesh and northern Madhya Pradesh between June 8 and 10. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and the general public to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
