Water Taxi: Journey from Navi Mumbai to Gateway of India in just 40 minutes, when will the water taxi start?

 

Mumbai will soon be connected to Navi Mumbai airport by waterways. Minister Nitesh Rane said that water taxi service will be started to connect Navi Mumbai airport to Mumbai. With the start of this service, the journey from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai airport will be completed in just 40 minutes.

Fisheries and Port Minister Nitesh Rane said that water taxi service will be started to connect Navi Mumbai airport to Mumbai. He instructed the officials to prepare a proposal to build jetties at necessary places. With the start of this service, the journey from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai airport will be completed in just 40 minutes.

Meeting held in the ministry

A meeting was held in the ministry to start water taxi. Officials from many departments including Additional Chief Secretary of Transport, Ports and Air Traffic Department Sanjay Sethi, Brijesh Singhal of Navi Mumbai Airport Authority and Pradeep Badhie of Maharashtra Sagar Mandal were present in this meeting. The facilities required to start water taxi service were also discussed in the meeting.

How is the arrangement now?

Rane said that the work of building a terminal for water taxi should be started gradually. The airport authority will have to give a proposal for permission. A place should also be decided to build a jetty for cargo transportation. Currently, there is Sion-Panvel Highway, Vilasrao Deshmukh Eastern Freeway and Harbor Railway Line to go from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai.

Where is the plan to run water taxi from?

There is a plan to run water taxi from Radio Jetty to Navi Mumbai Airport. Other stoppages are also being examined on this route. Electric boats will be used for this journey. This will reduce pollution and open a new way for the environment. Also, people will be able to reach Navi Mumbai quickly without traffic jams.

What did Nitesh Rane say? Nitesh Rane said that there are many options for water transport around Mumbai and they should be used. This route can be used for passenger transport as well as cargo transport. It is easy to connect cities like Navi Mumbai, Thane to Mumbai through waterways. This requires good planning and willpower. The state government is making efforts for this.
