Rain Alert: Heavy rain alert in these states for the next 9 days, Meteorological Department update

 

Navratri Rain Alert: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for light to heavy rain in several states during Navratri. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also possible.

The monsoon has slowed down in the country, but it hasn’t ended yet. Navratri has begun today, marking the beginning of the festive season. Navratri celebrations are being celebrated in various ways and traditions across the country. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert. According to the weather department, several states across the country will experience heavy rain during the nine days of Navratri.

Light to moderate rain alert in these states

According to the weather department, several districts in eastern Rajasthan are under an alert for intermittent heavy rain for the next three days. Several states in eastern and central India will experience rain during the nine days of Navratri (Navratri Rain Alert). Heavy thunderstorms and storms, along with strong winds (speeds of up to 30-40 km per hour), are also expected. During this period, light to moderate rain is likely in most parts of the state and heavy rain at many places in Bihar from 25 to 27 September, in Jharkhand from 24 to 26 September, in Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha from 24 to 27 September and in Odisha from 22 to 27 September.

Heavy Rain Warning in Maharashtra and Gujarat

In addition, the monsoon will remain active in western parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during Navratri, leading to intermittent rainfall. A heavy rain warning has been issued in Maharashtra for the next seven days and in Gujarat on September 22nd and 23rd. Light to moderate rain alerts have been issued for Konkan and Goa on the 22nd and again from the 25th to the 27th.

Monsoon Active in the Northeast

In the Northeast, Assam and Meghalaya are expected to experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many locations between September 22nd and 24th. Heavy rain warnings have also been issued for some locations. Similar weather conditions are expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from September 22nd to 27th. An alert for light to moderate and heavy rain has also been issued in many areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from September 22 to 27.
