UPI can be used for shopping abroad
According to a statement, after this step, users will be able to use UPI through their Paytm app to pay for shopping, food etc. abroad. It owns the QR, Soundbox and Paytm brands, the leading mobile payment platform. The company has launched UPI payment services for Paytm users in some international locations outside the country.
Travelers going out of the country will get convenience
Indian travelers going out of the country can now use their Paytm app to make seamless payments at those places. It can be used only at those places where UPI is accepted. These places include United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan and Nepal. Paytm spokesperson said, ‘In view of the upcoming holidays, we are confident that this step will make the foreign travel of users more convenient.’
Work is being done to increase the scope of UPI
Let us tell you that the Government of India is continuously working on increasing the scope of UPI outside the country as well. In the last one to one and a half years, UPI facility has become available in many countries. Currently UPI can be used in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Bhutan, UAE, Singapore, Oman and Nepal. Apart from this, it is expected to be launched soon in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Australia, USA, Bahrain, Japan, Philippines etc.
