Railways is going to start 13 new AC local trains on this route, check route and time table
AC local trains: In view of the popularity and increasing demand of AC local trains among passengers, Western Railway has taken a big step. From Wednesday, November 27, 2024, the Railways has decided to increase the number of AC local services on the Mumbai suburban section.
AC local trains: In view of the popularity and increasing demand of AC local trains among passengers, Western Railways has taken a big step. It has been decided by the Railways to increase the number of AC local services on the Mumbai suburban section from Wednesday, November 27, 2024. With the introduction of 13 new AC services, the total number of AC services will now increase from 96 to 109 on weekdays and from 52 to 65 on Saturdays and Sundays.
According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, there has been a significant increase in the number of passengers traveling by AC local trains. Therefore, for the benefit of passengers and to accommodate the crowd, 13 more AC services are being introduced on Western Railway by replacing the existing non-AC 12 car services.
These services will run as AC services on all days of the week. There will be no change in the total number of services, i.e. the number of local services including 109 AC local train services is 1406. Of these new AC local trains being introduced from November 27, 2024, the first local train will run from Churchgate at 12:34 pm and thereafter the regular operation of all new AC local trains will be as per the timetable given below.
Vineet further informed that out of the additional 13 services being started, 6 services are in the up direction and 7 services are in the down direction. In the up direction, there are 2 services each between Virar-Churchgate and Bhayander-Churchgate and one service each between Virar-Bandra and Bhayander-Andheri.
Similarly, in the down direction there are two services between Churchgate – Virar, one service each between Churchgate – Bhayander, Andheri – Virar, Bandra – Bhayander, Mahalaxmi – Borivali and Borivali – Bhayander.
