IMD Rain Alert: Heavy rain and tornado alert in these 23+ states, know the weather conditions

According to the latest update of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is currently passing through Barmer, Jodhpur, Rajgarh (Churu district) and Bathinda. Meteorologists say that within the next 2 to 3 days, the monsoon will become fully active over the entire country, covering Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea.
Talking about weather systems, a well-marked low pressure area is formed over north-west Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south-west Uttar Pradesh. It is likely to move north-northwest and then turn north-east. Along with this, due to the activation of seasonal trough, off-shore trough and western disturbance, today (July 9) a high alert has been issued for heavy rains and strong storm in more than 23 states of the country including Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar, MP and Rajasthan.
According to IMD, the main rain areas today will include Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, Orange Alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu in South India.
