Heavy Rain Alert: Clouds will rain heavily in these 20+ states along with UP, IMD issues red color warning for these 3 areas
Today’s weather: Monsoon rains have once again taken a severe form in the country. According to the weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for August 13, more than 20 states of the country will see torrential rains along with heavy thunder. In view of the extremely serious situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a red color warning for 3 major areas of the country, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. At the same time, an alert has been given for heavy rain, storm and lightning from eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Central India to the states of South and North-East.
Torrential torrential rains in 3 areas, red warning issued
According to the Meteorological Department, the most intense form of rain can be seen in three areas on August 13. There is a strong possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha with extremely heavy rainfall at a few places. Due to heavy rains in these three areas, there is a possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas, rapid rise in the water level of rivers and disruption of traffic. Keeping this risk in mind, disaster management systems have been put on alert.
Very heavy rain in Jharkhand, heavy rain alert in 20+ states including UP
Apart from the red warning areas, heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted at different places in Jharkhand. Along with this, heavy rain activities will be recorded in more than 20 states and union territories of the country. In North India, there will be heavy rain in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh. In Central and Western India, there will be torrential rains in West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa and Central Maharashtra.
In the states of Eastern and North-Eastern India, heavy rains will continue in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. At the same time, alert of heavy rain has also been given in South India’s Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe.
Stormy winds will blow at a speed of 50 km/hour, there will be lightning
Along with rain, incidents of strong winds and lightning may occur in many states on August 13. There will be a danger of storm winds with speed of 40 to 50 km per hour and lightning at isolated places in Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Apart from this, winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour and lightning will occur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana and West Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Warning for fishermen in Arabian Sea
Seasonal movements will remain intense in South and Coastal India. There is a possibility of strong surface winds during the day in different areas of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. Talking about sea weather, the conditions in the Arabian Sea are going to be very bad.
Gusts of storm winds moving at a speed of 45 to 55 kilometers per hour can reach up to 65 kilometers per hour in areas near and adjacent to the coast of Somalia and Oman. In view of the high waves and stormy winds in the sea, the Meteorological Department has instructed fishermen not to go to these areas for safety reasons.
