Heavy Rain Alert: Heavy rain warning in these states including Delhi-NCR, IMD told the weather condition
Weather Update 11 August: Monsoon remains active in most parts of the country. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall forecast in several states in the coming days. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some parts of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at most places in Uttarakhand.
Talking about the capital Delhi and the National Capital Region i.e. NCR, there is a possibility of cloudy sky and intermittent light rain for the next few days. However, despite the rain, complete relief from humidity is not expected, as the temperature may remain above normal.
How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR tomorrow?
According to the Meteorological Department, light to very light rain is expected in many areas in Delhi on August 13, 14 and 15. During this period the wind speed is likely to be around 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. Westerly winds may also blow on August 14. Whereas on August 15, north-westerly winds are expected to prevail.
According to IMD, the weather in Delhi will be mainly cloudy throughout the week. During this period, there may be light rain from time to time. However, these rain showers are unlikely to provide much relief from the humidity. The Meteorological Department has indicated that there will be no major change in the maximum temperature of Delhi during the next seven days. In such a situation, hot and humid weather can trouble people even amidst the rains.
Rain and thunder at most places in Uttarakhand
Monsoon is likely to remain active in Uttarakhand. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur in most parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain may remain continuous in the hilly areas. At the same time, rain is likely to be limited to a few selected places in the plain districts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. Due to continuous rain in the hilly areas, conditions like slipping, waterlogging and traffic disruption can occur at the local level.
There will be torrential rain in these areas in Tamil Nadu
The weather in Tamil Nadu is likely to be affected by the atmospheric circulation over the coastal region of North Tamil Nadu. Rain activities may remain more active in the areas along the Western Ghats and northern coastal districts on August 12 and 13. There is a possibility of moderate rain in these areas. The moisture-laden winds and prevailing atmospheric conditions may create favorable conditions for the formation of rain clouds.
Scattered rain may occur at some places in other parts of Tamil Nadu also. However, the intensity of rain may vary in different areas. On the other hand, heat may persist in the northern interior parts of the state despite rains. The maximum temperature here is likely to be about 3 degrees Celsius above normal till August 13.
Warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Rajasthan
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Rajasthan during the next few days. The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rain in many parts of southern and eastern Rajasthan. Very heavy rain may also occur at some places. Rain activities in the state are likely to continue till August 13. After this, the weather may start improving in Western Rajasthan from August 14, while the rain activities in Eastern Rajasthan are expected to reduce from August 15.
Cyclonic circulation active in north-eastern Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is active in north-eastern Rajasthan and surrounding areas. Due to its effect, there may be moderate to heavy rain in many parts of southern and eastern Rajasthan on August 11. There is also a possibility of very heavy rain at some places. After this, the rainy season may continue till August 13. Weather is likely to be relatively dry over West Rajasthan from August 14, while rain activity over East Rajasthan may weaken from August 15.
‘Orange alert’ issued in Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of the state on Tuesday. There is a possibility of heavy rain especially in Kangra and Mandi districts.
IMD has predicted that the rainy season will continue in the state till August 15. Due to continuous rains in the hilly state, problems like landslides, road blockage, rising water level of rivers and drains and waterlogging at local level may arise in some areas. People are advised to exercise caution considering the weather conditions.
Monsoon active in North and South India
It is clear from the latest forecast of IMD that monsoon activities remain active in many parts of the country. Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh in North India, while rains are expected to continue in many parts of Tamil Nadu in South India in the coming days. At the same time, continuous rain in Delhi may be controlling the temperature to some extent. But due to humidity and relatively high temperature, people are not expected to get complete rest.
