Rainfall Alert: IMD issues 3-day heavy rain alert for 17 states including Delhi-UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, know today’s weather

 

Today’s Mausam: The Meteorological Department has asked people to be cautious, especially in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar. Because during this period, situations like falling of trees and floods in low-lying areas can occur.

Rainfall Alert: Floods are currently wreaking havoc in parts of the country, including Assam and Nagaland. 95 people have died in Assam. Meanwhile, torrential rains continue in many parts of the country, including Delhi. It has been raining continuously for the past three days, and today remains overcast. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and strong winds in 17 states. Strong winds with speeds of up to 50 to 70 km per hour are expected. People in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar, have been urged to exercise caution, as these conditions could lead to tree falls and flooding in low-lying areas. Heavy rain is also forecast for isolated areas in western Madhya Pradesh on August 6th and 8th. Heavy rain is also expected in isolated areas in Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh on August 5th and 7th, and in isolated areas in western Madhya Pradesh on August 7th. Heavy rain will also continue in Kerala and Karnataka for the next three days.

Delhi-NCR Weather

Delhi-NCR has been experiencing continuous rain for the past several days. On Wednesday, Delhi experienced heavy downpours for about two hours, and the rain continued on Thursday. Rain has been falling across the entire NCR, including Delhi and Noida, since morning. Delhiites don’t see any respite from the monsoon rains in sight. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for light to moderate rain from August 5th to 8th. During this period, the sky will remain cloudy and light rain is possible. However, the Meteorological Department has not issued any alert.

Rain alert in these states

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for Uttarakhand, Konkan, and Goa. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe. Light to moderate rainfall is forecast for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

Orange and Yellow Alerts in Uttar Pradesh

Rain is also continuing in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Uttar Pradesh for Thursday. An orange alert for very heavy rainfall has been issued for five districts of Uttar Pradesh. According to the IMD forecast, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at many places in eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 5-6. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for 20 districts in western Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted scattered rain for Friday.

Heavy Rain Alert in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand has been experiencing torrential rain since Wednesday. Rivers and streams are overflowing in many districts, raising the risk of landslides in mountainous areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Thursday as well. An “Orange Alert” is in effect for several districts, including Dehradun.

Weather in Bihar on August 6

Rain continues to fall in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many parts of the state on Thursday. According to the IMD, heavy rain is possible in some areas between August 6 and 8. A rain alert has been issued for most parts of the state, including Patna, today. Moist easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are continuously blowing through Bihar. Due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation in the upper atmosphere, clouds are also rapidly forming. Therefore, this rainy season will continue for a few days.
