Weather Forecast 5 June: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its latest weather update for June 5. According to this, different types of weather will be seen in different parts of the country. According to the IMD alert, while on one hand the pace of south-west monsoon is increasing, on the other hand an alert of heavy to extremely heavy rain has been issued in 19 states of the country including Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Alert of heavy to extremely heavy rain in these states

On June 5, IMD has issued an alert of torrential rain in different parts of the country. There is an alert of extremely heavy rain in Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Apart from this, there is an alert of heavy rain in Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Konkan and Goa, Central Maharashtra and South Interior Karnataka.

Alert of severe tornado and hailstorm in these areas

On June 5, there is an alert of strong winds and hailstorm along with high speed winds in many parts of the country. There is a strong possibility of dust storm and severe tornado with a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh (East and West), Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. A warning of thunderstorm and hail has been issued in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir on June 5.

Know state wise weather forecast for June 5

1. North-West India (Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand)

There will be widespread light to moderate rain and gusty winds with speed reaching 50-60 km per hour over Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain and hail may occur at some places in Uttarakhand. There will be strong winds along with thunderstorm and lightning in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh (East and West). There are chances of dusty winds blowing at the speed of 40-50 km per hour in western Rajasthan also.

2. Eastern and North-Eastern India (Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Assam)

Heavy rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 40-50 km per hour are expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy rain alert will continue in these areas. Heavy rain will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Apart from this, there is a possibility of storm with speed of 40-50 km/hour along with lightning in Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic plains of West Bengal.

3. Central and West India (MP, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Gujarat)

There is a possibility of a strong storm (thundersquall) with a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in the areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on June 5. The weather will remain bad in Vidarbha also. Heavy rains may be recorded in Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra. There is also a yellow alert for rain with gale speed of 40 to 50 km per hour at isolated places in Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch and Marathwada.

4. South India (Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh)

The weather will be most aggressive in Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. There is an alert of extremely heavy rain here. Heavy rain with strong thunderstorm will also be recorded in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep.

Heatwave alert in these areas

There will be no major change in maximum temperatures in the states of North-West India till June 5. After this, the mercury may rise by 3-5°C between June 6 and 10. There has been a warning of severe heat wave in Bihar between 6th to 8th June, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh between 7th to 10th June and in Western Uttar Pradesh between 8th to 10th June. The weather will be extremely humid in Odisha from June 4 to 8. Apart from this, severe humidity will also trouble coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and North-Eastern states on June 5.
