Meanwhile, thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms are likely to continue in Northwest India. Meanwhile, a heatwave alert has been issued in Bihar.

Weekly Weather Update: The southwest monsoon is slowly gaining momentum. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is expected in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and several states in northeastern India in the coming days. Meanwhile, thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms may continue in northwestern India. Meanwhile, a heatwave alert has been issued in Bihar.

The Meteorological Department reported that the southwest monsoon is steadily advancing towards Kerala and surrounding areas, while widespread pre-monsoon storms are affecting large parts of northern, central, and eastern India.

Monsoon Situation

The southwest monsoon has not yet fully entered Kerala.

The northern limit of the monsoon (NLM) currently extends over the Arabian Sea, the southern Bay of Bengal, and areas around Sri Lanka.

Around June 4, the monsoon is expected to advance into some more parts of Kerala, Lakshadweep, parts of Tamil Nadu, and the southwest and northeastern Bay of Bengal.

South India Weather Update

Kerala: Heavy rain expected from June 2–8.

Karnataka (coastal, southern, and northern interior): Heavy rain warning at many places.

Tamil Nadu: Heavy rain at isolated places from June 2–8.

Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema: Strong winds with gusts of 50–70 km/h, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected.

Northeast India

Arunachal Pradesh: Heavy rain expected from June 3–8.

Assam and Meghalaya: Heavy rain expected from June 5–8.

Northwest India

A warning for thunderstorms and rain has been issued for Delhi, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab from June 2-6. Strong winds with winds of 50-70 km/h are expected in these states on June 3-4. Dust storms are expected in western Rajasthan on June 3.

Central India

Madhya Pradesh: Strong thunderstorms will occur from June 2–4. Hailstorms may also occur at some locations.

Eastern India

Odisha: An alert for thunderstorms and rain has been issued from June 2–6. Strong thunderstorms (up to 70 km/h) will occur on June 2–3.

Heatwave Alert

A heatwave is expected in Bihar from June 4–6.

Hot and humid weather will prevail in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of West Bengal.

Temperature Forecast

Temperatures in northwest India may increase by 2–4°C by June 3. A slight decrease is possible between June 4–6. Temperatures will remain unchanged in most other parts of the country.

Western Uttar Pradesh (including your area, Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar)

A warning has been issued for scattered rain, thunderstorms, and winds up to 40–50 km/h from June 2–6. Strong thunderstorms (50–70 km/h) are also possible at isolated places in and around the NCR on June 3–4.
