IMD Weather Alert: IMD issues heavy rain alert for 7 states; thunderstorms and tornadoes at speeds of 50-60 kmph will hit several states.

 

IMD Weather Alert: The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, thunder, strong winds and hailstorm in many states of the country. Monsoon activities are intensifying in South India. While many parts of North, Central and Eastern India are likely to have bad weather for the next few days

IMD Weather Alert: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, thunder, strong winds and hailstorm in some areas in about seven states of the country. According to IMD, monsoon activities have started intensifying in the states of South India. Whereas the effect of storm can be seen in many areas of North and Central India. IMD said in its latest update that monsoon may hit Kerala within the next 2-3 days.

According to IMD, people suffering from extreme heat and heat wave are going to get relief this week. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather patterns will remain changed in many states of the country including Delhi-NCR for the next few days.

There will be monsoon rain in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Kerala and Mahe may receive extremely heavy rainfall in some areas between June 3 and 8.

There will be a storm of 60 kilometers per hour

At the same time, in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha, strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour can occur along with thunderstorms. Wind speed is likely to reach 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in some areas.

Rain alert with hailstorm

An alert of hailstorm and heavy rain has been issued in West Madhya Pradesh on June 2. At the same time, warning of strong thunderstorm and storm has also been given in some parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha and West Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heat wave in Bihar between June 3 and 8. Hot and humid weather may persist in some areas of Northeast India and Odisha.

Chances of heavy rain in South India

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Extremely heavy rainfall may also occur at some places over Kerala and Mahe between June 3 and 8.

There is a possibility of strong winds along with thunderstorms in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha. In many areas the wind speed can reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Whereas at some places there has been a warning of strong gusts at the speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.

Hail warning in Madhya Pradesh

There is a possibility of hailstorm with thunder and lightning in West Madhya Pradesh on June 2. An alert of heavy rain and strong winds has also been issued here.

Heatwave threat in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heat wave in Bihar between June 3 and 8. At the same time, hot and humid weather may persist in North-Eastern states and Odisha.

Monsoon update

The south-west monsoon is slowly advancing. Conditions remain favorable for its further advance into Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Arabian Sea and other parts of the Bay of Bengal in the next 2 to 3 days.

Warning to sea fishermen

Fishermen have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of strong winds and high waves in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. In some sea areas the wind speed can reach 45 to 55 kilometers per hour and with gusts up to 65 kilometers per hour.

What will be the impact in Uttar Pradesh?

There may be rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in Uttar Pradesh during the next few days. Storm activities are likely to be more effective in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to avoid going near open fields, trees and electric poles during bad weather and follow the instructions issued by the local administration.
