Railways Fare Cut: Railways provides special concession in fare ranging from 25% to 75% to visually impaired, mentally ill, hearing and speech impaired and physically handicapped (orthopedically handicapped) passengers.

Railways Fare Cut: Railways are continuously striving to provide respectable, accessible, and affordable travel facilities to passengers with disabilities. To further this objective, the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway has issued 651 Disability Concession Cards as of June 17, 2026.

ONLINE APPLICATION

Passengers interested in obtaining a Disability Concession Card can apply online. A disability certificate issued by the District Medical Hospital, a Railway Concession Certificate issued by a government hospital under West Central Railway, an Aadhaar card, a birth certificate, and a passport-size photograph are required. These documents must be uploaded to the Indian Railways website: https://divyangjanid.indianrail.gov.in. After verification, the card is issued, and the applicant is notified via SMS.

Railways Provides Relief

The Railways offers special fare discounts ranging from 25% to 75% for visually impaired, mentally challenged, hearing and speech impaired, and orthopedically handicapped passengers. This concession can be obtained through a Disability Concession Card, which can be used both at the counter and online when booking tickets. If an escort travels with a disabled passenger, they also receive the same concession. For more information or assistance, contact the Disability Cell at the Bhopal Divisional Office between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on working days.
