IMD Heavy Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed national bulletin for the country until June 24. Due to the activation of the southwest monsoon and a new western disturbance, a strict alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued in 13 states across the country.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed national bulletin for the country till June 24. Under this, due to the activation of the South-West monsoon and a new western disturbance, a strict alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in 13 states of the country. Apart from this, a warning of severe storm, hailstorm and thundersquall has been issued in 30 different areas (meteorological sub-divisions) of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar. Heat wave will also be seen in some states including Uttar Pradesh.

The Northern Limit of the Southwest Monsoon (NLM) is currently passing through Harnai, Solapur, Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam, Koraput, Phulbani, Ranchi, Jamui, and Muzaffarpur. According to the Meteorological Department, conditions remain favorable for the monsoon to advance into Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, some more parts of Bihar, and some areas of Chhattisgarh within the next 4-5 days.

The Meteorological Department has forecast torrential rains in 13 states of the country during the period from 18 to 24 June. Heavy to very heavy rains will occur at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during 18-19 June and 21-23 June. There is a red alert for extremely heavy rains on 20 June. Heavy rains will continue here on 24 June as well. Assam and Meghalaya: There will be heavy to very heavy rains here between 19 and 22 June. Apart from this, there is a warning of heavy rains on 18 June, 23 June and 24 June also.
There is an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kerala and Mahe on June 18. After this, heavy rainfall will be recorded from June 21 to 23. Continuous heavy rainfall is expected in Bihar from June 18 to 20. Heavy rainfall is expected in coastal Karnataka on June 18 and from June 21 to 24, while heavy rainfall is expected in South Interior Karnataka on June 18 and 21-22 and in North Interior Karnataka on June 21-22. There is an alert for continuous heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from June 18 to 23. Heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on June 18-19.
80 Kmph super storm and thunderstorm in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for strong winds and thunderstorms of 40 to 80 km/h speed in about 30 meteorological regions of the country. Thundersqualls with a speed of 60-70 km/h will occur in western Rajasthan on June 18 and in eastern Rajasthan on June 18-19. Its gusts can reach up to 80 km/h. After this, winds with a speed of up to 70 km/h will occur in western Rajasthan on June 19-20 and in eastern Rajasthan on June 20. Dust storms will occur in western Rajasthan on June 18-20 and in eastern Rajasthan on June 18.
Severe thunderstorms with winds of 60-70 km/h (70 mph) are expected in Bihar on June 18-19, with maximum gusts of up to 80 km/h (10 mph). Thunderstorms with winds of up to 50 km/h (10 mph) and lightning will follow from June 20-24. Thunderstorms with winds of up to 50-60 km/h (10 mph) are expected in western Madhya Pradesh on June 18-19, with gusts of up to 70 km/h (10 mph). A yellow alert for 50 km/h winds is issued from June 20-22. Thunderstorms will also affect eastern Madhya Pradesh from June 18-22. A warning for severe thunderstorms with winds of up to 50-60 km/h (10 mph) has been issued for Jharkhand on June 18-20, and for Odisha on June 18-19.
Thunderstorm and lightning situation in Delhi, UP and Punjab-Haryana and other 30 other areas
An alert has been issued for Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab from June 18 to 22 for continuous thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 40-50 km/h (gusts up to 60 km/h). Thunderstorms and lightning will affect western Uttar Pradesh on June 18-22 and eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 18-19. There is a severe warning for hailstorms and winds with a speed of 60 km/h along with thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on June 18-19 (till June 20 in Jammu and Kashmir).
How will the weather be in West and South India?
There will be a storm of 50 km/h in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on 18-19 June and in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra on 22-24 June. There is a thunderstorm and lightning alert in Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch on 18 June. There will be thunderstorm and lightning in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior parts of South India from 18-22 June. Apart from this, strong winds will also blow in Andaman and Nicobar, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha till 22 June.
Heat wave to continue in Uttar Pradesh till June 24
Amid this changing weather, intense heat and heat waves will continue to prevail in some parts of the country. Severe heat waves will persist in isolated pockets in eastern Uttar Pradesh from June 18th to 24th, and in western Uttar Pradesh from June 19th to 24th. Heat waves will prevail in Bihar, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha on June 18th. Furthermore, heat waves will persist in Maharashtra (Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha) and Telangana from June 18th to 20th. Unbearable humid heat will continue to trouble Gangetic West Bengal (June 18th to 19th), Odisha (June 18th to 20th), Konkan and Goa (June 18th to 21st), and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema (June 19th to 20th).
